Most glass manufacturers offer laminated safety glass that incorporates a plastic interlayer. This plastic (PVB or SGP) comes in rolls and is placed between layers of glass and heated in an autoclave to create the transparent lamination.

IRD’s Delta-T-Glass interlayer incorporates thermochromic nanoparticles and is laminated the same way, resulting in no capex for manufacturers. IRD expects to have a market-ready tested and certified product by late 2025.
